About Boundless.
By Boundless /
Boundless is a functional drinks brand founded in Australia in 2021 and now launching in the US. It makes twist-to-mix shots (the Longevity Shot and the Sleep Shot), nanobubble hydrogen water in aluminum cans, and coconut water, pure or with a functional twist-to-mix cap. The idea began with the Japanese scientist Dr. Jeffery Sonoyama, who leads its hydrogen water work.
Our story
Picture Tokyo, 2 a.m., a tiny lab above a ramen shop. The Japanese scientist Dr. Jeffery Sonoyama had a very personal reason to be there: his young daughter was living with eczema, and he wanted to find a gentle, everyday ritual that could support her and help her feel good in her own skin. That search led him to hydrogen water, and to a mission that was simple and slightly unhinged: make the smallest molecule on Earth actually stay in a drink.
Hundreds of prototypes later (RIP to every bottle that went flat before breakfast), the team cracked it. Seal the hydrogen in. Keep the actives dry in the cap until you twist. Mix it fresh, every single time.
What started at a kitchen table spread to friends, then friends of friends. In 2021 the idea landed in Australia and became Boundless: twist-to-mix shots, hydrogen water and coconut water, made to lab-bench standards. Clean inputs, real doses, nothing you don't need. Next stop, the US.
Dr. Jeffery Sonoyama
Dr. Jeffery Sonoyama is the Japanese scientist behind the idea, and he leads Boundless's hydrogen water work. His focus is the problem that started it all: keeping molecular hydrogen, the smallest molecule there is, in the drink until you open it, and keeping powdered actives dry until the moment you twist. That work is where the twist-to-mix cap and our nanobubble hydrogen water come from.
What we make
- Longevity Shot: a 25 mL zero-sugar golden apple shot with 50 mg ergothioneine in the twist-to-mix cap.
- Sleep Shot: a 25 mL zero-sugar lavender evening shot with GABA, magnesium and jujuba. No melatonin.
- Hydrogen water: Detox, Sport and Kids, three hydrogen levels in 250 mL aluminum cans.
- Coconut water: pure coconut water with hydrogen, and four functional twist-to-mix flavors.
